MO- and MT- billing are the two methods how carriers charge users. With MO-billing (Mobile Originating Billing), operators charge for the sent message. In this case, users are billed at the moment when they sent out SMS. With MT-billing (Mobile Terminating Billing), operators charge for the reply-message sent back to the user. In this case, users are billed only when they receive the reply-message (also known as reverse billing).

The operators then pay the remaining money (usually between 40% and 60% depending on end-user price) to Fortumo. Fortumo pays you the money received from operators minus a small commission (which can be only 2-3% of end-user price, depending on country, type of service and volume). Payout cycle in Australia is 2 monthsFortumo pays you money immediately after we have received it from the mobile operators. Operators in different countries pay at different speeds. Payout cycle of 2 months means that the revenue earned by your services in January will be transferred to you in the first half of April.
After the initial waiting period, you would get a payout each month, as your February money arrives in May, March money in June, etc.

- The service must be in compliance with Fortumo Terms of Service Commsalliance regulations, Australian legal acts and good morals.
- The end user price must be clearly stated in the advertisements and instructions of use.
- Customer complaint will result in payout deduction AUD 15 per incident.
- Adult content related services are strictly forbidden.
- Content providers, who sell content to download, have to add the following statement next to the price info: "GPRS rates apply, carrier and data charges, WAP/GPRS/UMTS charges apply."
